Product Details

This Power Wizard 1.1 digital control panel is an aftermarket replacement for part number 350-5851-01, built as a direct-fit unit for GEH220 generator sets and compatible with Power Wizard 1.1, 1.1+ and 2.1 controller installations.

The Power Wizard family sits below the EMCP range and is the controller found on smaller generator sets, where one compact unit handles engine monitoring, generator protection, alarm annunciation and start and stop control. Because it is a single-unit design with no separate control module behind it, a failed panel usually takes the whole set out of service — the engine may be perfectly healthy but there is no way to start or monitor it.

  • Direct replacement fitment — matches the original panel cut-out, mounting pattern and harness connectors, so no enclosure modification or rewiring is needed.
  • New, unused condition — supplied in plain protective packaging without third-party branding.
  • Covers three controller variants — suitable for Power Wizard 1.1, 1.1+ and 2.1 installations.
  • Defined electrical specification — 24V DC ±15% input, relay output rated 5 A and 1 VA maximum.
  • Works with either engine brand — GEH220 sets are built with both CAT and Perkins engines, and the panel is programmed to suit whichever yours has.
  • Function-restoring only — supplied to restore original operating parameters; no changes are made to protection settings or calibration.
  • 6-month warranty — repair or replacement service if any fault appears within the period.

Required: Tell Us Whether Your Engine Is CAT or Perkins

GEH220 generator sets are supplied with either a CAT or a Perkins engine, and the panel must be programmed differently for each. We cannot configure your unit until we know which one you have, so please message us after placing your order. Without this the panel cannot be set up correctly and will not run your set.

Please send us the following after purchase:

  • Confirmation of your engine brand — CAT or Perkins
  • A clear photograph of the engine nameplate

If you are not sure which engine your set has, the nameplate photograph is enough — we will identify it for you.

Installation and removal of a generator control panel should always be carried out by an experienced technician. Isolate the set from all power sources, including battery and mains supply, before any work begins.

Confirm the supply voltage of your installation before ordering. This panel requires a 24V DC supply and is not suitable for 12V systems. It is supplied to restore original operating parameters only.

Common Failure Symptoms

Control panels usually degrade in stages rather than failing outright. These are the patterns reported most often on Power Wizard installations, and what each one typically points to.

Symptom What It Usually Points To
Panel completely dead Check the 24V supply at the connector first. This panel needs 24V DC within ±15%, so a supply that has drifted low will leave it unresponsive even though the panel itself is fine.
Set will not crank from the panel Failed start relay output. Confirm the emergency stop is reset, then check whether the relay is switching at all before condemning the panel.
Relay outputs stopped switching Welded or burnt relay contacts, usually from a load above the 5 A rating. Check what the output is driving — an oversized contactor coil will kill a replacement panel just as quickly.
Screen dark but the set runs Backlight or internal supply failure. The control functions may still be working even though nothing is visible.
Keypad buttons unresponsive Worn membrane keypad — the most common wear item, and usually the first symptom to appear.
Engine parameters wrong or missing Can be a sensor input failure, but on a recently replaced panel it is more often a programming mismatch — a panel set up for a CAT engine will misreport on a Perkins and vice versa.
Nuisance shutdowns with no real fault The panel acting on corrupted sensor input, or a failing protection stage. Cross-check the reported parameter against a gauge before accepting it.
Alarms never annunciate Alarm output stage failure — the set appears monitored but protection is silently lost.
Panel freezes and needs a power cycle Processor lock-up, often heat related inside a sealed enclosure. A shortening interval between lock-ups means the panel is on its way out.

Check the supply and the relay load first. Battery condition, charger output, panel fuse, ground integrity and corroded pins imitate panel failure far more often than the panel itself. And if the previous panel died with burnt relay contacts, find out what those contacts were switching before fitting a replacement — a load above the 5 A rating will take out the new one too.
