20R-8182 (20R8182) remanufactured engine control module — a direct-replacement ECM for Caterpillar 627G, 637D and 637G wheel scrapers and tractors, the 586C site prep tractor, the AD30 underground truck and C7 / C9 industrial and petroleum engine builds.
Scraper and site prep work is one of the harshest duty cycles a control module sees: constant shock loading through the frame, heavy dust and long hours at full load. Programming Required Before The Engine Will Start
The module ships with no engine application software loaded. A workshop with dealer-level service tooling has to flash and configure it against your engine before the machine will run. Send us the following as soon as you have ordered:
- Engine Serial Number (ESN) and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
- Clear photographs of the module currently fitted, with every number on the label readable
- A photograph of the engine data plate showing the arrangement number
- Machine model and serial prefix — for example 637G, 586C or AD30
Removal and refitting is a job for an experienced technician. Isolate the batteries before unplugging the module, and on scrapers pay particular attention to the harness routing and clamps when you reassemble: a loom left unclamped on a 637 will chafe through faster than on almost any other machine in the fleet.
