255-5282 (2555282) remanufactured engine control module — a direct-replacement ECM for Caterpillar C18, C27 and C32 generator sets, C13 industrial and C15 petroleum engines, D10T and D11R track-type tractors and the 777C off-highway truck.
This is a high-hour duty part, and the rebuild reflects that. The core is dismantled, the board is cleaned and examined under magnification, and the sections that carry continuous load on standby and prime power sets — the switching power supply, the injector driver bank and the solder joints under the connector headers — are rebuilt with new components. Insulation and protection circuits are verified, the case is resealed, and the module is run up on a bench harness and function-tested to factory-specified parameters before it is packed for dispatch.

Programming Required — Software Is Not Pre-Loaded
The module arrives without application software or personality data for your engine. On generator sets this also means rating, governing and protection settings have to be configured before the set will run on load. Send us the following immediately after checkout:
- Engine Serial Number (ESN) and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), or the genset serial number for stationary sets
- Clear photographs of the ECM currently fitted, with all numbers on the label readable
- A photograph of the engine data plate showing the arrangement and performance specification number
- For generator sets: rated kW / kVA, frequency (50 or 60 Hz) and the control panel type in use
Fitting should be handled by an experienced technician. On generator sets, isolate the starting batteries, the battery charger and the panel supply before disconnecting the module, and lock off any auto-start signal so the set cannot crank while the connectors are open. Cap the connectors while the module is off the engine.
