This remanufactured Electronic Engine Control Module (ECM / ECU) is an aftermarket replacement for Caterpillar part number 322-3602, covering the 3126 and C-series engine range across on-highway trucks, D5N and D6N track-type tractors, 953C and 963C track loaders, the 561N pipelayer and marine installations.
On a tracked machine the ECM works in conditions that are harder than anything a truck sees. Undercarriage vibration is constant and unforgiving, the engine bay runs hot with limited airflow, and dust ingress is a daily fact of life rather than an occasional event. Modules on D6N tractors and 963C loaders accumulate fatigue faster than the same part in a highway application, which is why they turn up in the reman stream at higher rates and lower hours.

Important: Programming Is Required Before Use
This module is not plug-and-play. Every engine carries its own calibration file, and the unit must be flashed to your specific serial number by a qualified technician using approved diagnostic software before the engine will run correctly. A module configured for a highway truck will not run a D6N correctly even though both are covered by this reference — the application settings differ.

A failing engine control module rarely dies all at once. These are the patterns reported most often on tracked machines and vocational trucks, and the checks worth running first.
